Cashmere Avenue School is :

- located in Wellington’s north western suburbs
- a medium sized decile 10 primary school
- divided in three syndicates, catering for 5 – 10 year olds
- small enough to retain an intimate and caring environment

General Goals

At Cashmere Avenue School we aim to provide an environment which is inclusive, supportive and creative, so that children can develop and extend:

Our aims
We believe children learn best when :
	they feel they are making a worthwhile contribution
	their successes (big and small) are celebrated
	they are given clear boundaries of acceptable behaviour and where guidance and discipline are consistent, firm and fair

	they are in an environment they want to be in
	their school works as part of a supportive community.
A Partnership Approach We place a great deal of importance on the partnership that exists between the home and the school in the education of your child. We strongly believe your child’s education is a co-operative effort. Cashmere Avenue School encourages the participation of parents in all the daily activities and planning of the longer term objectives of the school. Opportunities for parent involvement range from governance (Board of Trustees), fundraising and social events (Home and School Association), cultural events (Whanau group) through to constructive participation in the education of your child. This can be both formally and informally with teaching staff and in assisting with homework assignments. A close communication between parents and teachers is seen as the best method of sharing information and monitoring a child’s progress and development.
