BOARD SHORTS

Hard Court
The Board was pleased to advise the Home and School have allocated funding to for a hard court area on the bottom field. There will be sufficient space for a netball court. The area will also ‘fill in’ some of the muddy traffic ways to playgrounds and will address some of the drainage issues around the classrooms. This will be of great benefit through the winter months. Once again thank you to the Home and School and the whole school community who support their efforts. The students do appreciate your work.

Out of Zone Enrolments for 2011
Cashmere Avenue School Board of Trustees determined that there are unlikely to be any spaces for the enrolment of out-of-zone students in 2011.

Education Review Office
The Board has been advised that the intended ERO review next term has been deferred and will now occur in Term 1 2011.

The Board of Trustees are a group of elected parents who undertake responsibility for the governance of the school while the Principal has the responsibility for the day to day management of the school. They meet on the third Tuesday of the month and meetings are open to the public.

The Board of Trustees believes strongly that quality education for children at a young age sets the foundation for their development as effective adults. The board is therefore committed to ensuring that the school provides the highest quality education possible in an atmosphere of teamwork and quality leadership.

It is committed to ensuring that the curriculum and specific need of the children are handled with sensitivity in as innovative, interactive and enjoyable manner as possible.

'I have two boys at Cashmere Avenue School. I have a background in journalism, communication and policy development. Before starting my family I worked as a journalist for a small community newspaper, in Parliament and as a consultant for a Public Relations business specialising in corporate communications and government lobbying.

I have two children at Cashmere Avenue School. I am a businesswoman with a background in banking and am now self employed.

I have been involved in the Home & School regularly through the lunch orders and helping with other projects.

I am currently managing my boys’ sports teams and am looking forward to working with the Board and school community.
